According to the American Sleep Apnea Association, about 22 million adults suffer from this condition. It’s estimated that 80 percent of these cases go undiagnosed and untreated, leading to a variety of health problems, including high blood pressure, chronic heart failure, stroke, and depression. We offer customized sleep apnea oral appliances to help open your airway while you sleep. This drastically reduces the number of sleep apnea episodes you have each night, prevents snoring, and can improve your overall health.
Our intraoral camera is a high-tech, handheld instrument that allows us to capture detailed, crystal clear video of every nook and cranny of your smile. It also allows us to utilize an enlarged monitor to show you real-time footage of what we’re looking at during your routine examination. With it, we’re able to easily explain why we’re suggesting specific treatments and answer any questions you may have about your oral health.
With new, digital imaging X-ray scanners, we’re able to develop clear, detailed pictures of your oral structures that lie below your gums. This increases our accuracy in diagnosing problems and eliminates the need to use harmful chemicals for developing the images. We can show you your images just seconds after taking them, and the process cuts down on radiation exposure by up to 80%!
In the past, whenever dentists needed to treat advanced gum disease, they would have to use a scalpel. At Arizona Smile Design, we use a soft tissue laser, which is a virtually painless alternative. This handheld device creates a small, precise beam of light to help reduce the presence of harmful oral bacteria and remove excess gum tissue. Because it immediately cauterizes an area when it comes in contact, the soft tissue laser is able to drastically reduce healing times as well.
The Wand is a computer-assisted system that makes administering local anesthesia more comfortable for patients and more precise for professionals. It guides our team to the ideal area to inject anesthesia and completely numbs it so you can receive pain-free treatment. By controlling the flow rate and pressure of the anesthesia during the injection, we can ensure maximized comfort and effectiveness while helping a patient avoid lingering numbness after their procedure.
Cavities are among the top three most common oral health problems in the United States according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We make sure the early signs of dental decay don’t slip by us by utilizing a handheld cavity detection system. This instrument is incredibly precise and can identify hard-to-spot cavities developing between the teeth even when the surface of the tooth appears completely normal.
